WorkJam expands AI-driven frontline platform across Catalyst Brands

Catalyst Brands is rolling out the WorkJam frontline operations platform to approximately 70,000 North American associates, spanning its entire portfolio including JCPenney, Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Lucky Brand, and Nautica to unify digital employee management and introduce conversational AI support.

The partnership expansion integrates an AI Agent directly into the WorkJam mobile application, allowing staff to query HR and benefits policies in real time. By automating these internal inquiries, Catalyst aims to reduce administrative friction and minimize the need for employees to contact support centers or pull managers away from customer-facing duties. The system operates within established governance controls, ensuring that policy-based information remains secure and role-appropriate.

Andre Joyner, EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Catalyst Brands, noted that the initiative focuses on creating a connected and agile workforce. Beyond immediate HR support, the company intends to evolve the AI Agent’s capabilities to address day-to-day operational questions. WorkJam CEO Steven Kramer stated that the move provides a scalable foundation for frontline teams, embedding technology into the existing workflow rather than forcing employees to navigate disparate systems.
