Ontario International Airport Claims Second Spot in Satisfaction Study

Seven points stood between Ontario International Airport and the top spot in the JD Power 2026 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, as the facility secured second place among medium-sized airports for the second consecutive year, bolstered by top rankings in arrival experience and passenger trust.

The airport achieved a satisfaction score of 705, a performance driven by its highest-in-category marks for arrival processes and overall traveler trust. According to Atif Elkadi, CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority, these results reflect a decade-long effort to cultivate a distinct operational culture following the airport's return to local control in 2016. Elkadi emphasized that the consistent recognition stems from the collective commitment of staff, airline partners, and stakeholders rather than incidental success.

Since transitioning to local ownership, the airport has seen passenger volumes surge by 75%, with projections indicating more than 7 million travelers will pass through the terminal this year. While the current ranking serves as a benchmark for regional performance, leadership maintains that the airport’s long-term goal remains to deliver the premier airport experience in North America. As the facility prepares for its next phase of expansion, the administration intends to scale infrastructure and destinations without diluting the passenger experience that earned this year’s high marks.
