GREW Solar and Caelux Partner for 4 GW Hybrid-Tandem Module Production

GREW Solar and Caelux Partner for 4 GW Hybrid-Tandem Module Production

India’s rapidly expanding solar manufacturer GREW Solar has secured a five-year agreement to incorporate Caelux’s perovskite glass into its production lines. The 4 gigawatt partnership aims to create advanced Hybrid-Tandem modules capable of exceeding 29% efficiency by utilizing a dual-layer energy generation process.

The deal bolsters Caelux's global footprint, bringing its total contracted manufacturing volume to 19 GW. By integrating Caelux’s proprietary Energy Producing Glass into its existing N-Type TOPCon technology, GREW Solar plans to upgrade its large-format G12R series. This plug-and-play approach allows the manufacturer to enhance output performance without requiring a complete overhaul of its heavy capital assets.

Vinay Thadani, CEO of GREW Solar, noted that the collaboration aligns with the Chiripal Group’s long-standing focus on technical innovation. The companies are currently targeting 2028 for the start of commercial production. This timeline is designed to ensure the new modules meet India’s Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) eligibility requirements and support the national "Make in India" initiative.

Caelux CEO Scott Graybeal highlighted that the partnership leverages GREW Solar’s extensive manufacturing ecosystem, which currently spans operations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. With 11 GW of module capacity and significant cell production lines under development, GREW Solar is positioned to scale these high-efficiency modules for utility-scale applications. The initiative is expected to generate thousands of additional jobs as the production footprint matures.
