The rollout is already underway, with 37 locations currently operational under the Parcel Pending by Quadient brand. The lockers support a variety of functions beyond standard parcel handling, including prescription collection, key exchange, and Click and Collect services. According to Katia Bourgeais-Crémel, EVP of Parcel Locker Solutions Europe at Quadient, the initiative is designed to remove friction from the collection process while embedding the network into local communities.
Fiona Drummond, Company Stores Director at James Hall & Co., noted that the move aligns with the retailer's commitment to expanding services beyond traditional retail offerings. By introducing secure, automated solutions, the company expects to drive additional footfall to its SPAR stores. Quadient currently operates over 28,200 units worldwide and has set a goal to reach 40,000 installations by 2030.
