Uber Eats expands German footprint with REWE grocery partnership

German supermarket giant REWE has officially joined the Uber Eats delivery platform, marking a significant expansion for the service's retail operations. The partnership kicks off this week in Frankfurt, offering customers access to a broad range of products through the Uber and Uber Eats mobile applications.

Moritz Bernhard, General Manager for Grocery & Retail at Uber, described the deal as a major milestone for the company’s regional business. Following the initial launch in Frankfurt, the two firms plan to scale their operations significantly over the coming months. The roadmap includes rolling out 60-minute grocery delivery services to more than 100 cities throughout Germany.

This move deepens REWE’s commitment to third-party delivery channels. The supermarket chain is already active on competing platforms, including Wolt in Cologne and Just Eat in Hamburg and Jena. The collaboration with Uber Eats underscores a broader industry shift toward rapid, on-demand fulfillment as retailers compete for convenience-focused consumers.
