Lifting heavy electric bicycles onto vehicle racks often leads to physical strain, but an inventor from Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, has developed a solution. The E-Z POWERLIFT, a motorized double trailer receiver hitch, automates the process of raising and lowering bike racks to eliminate the need for manual ramps or lifting.

The patent-pending system is engineered to handle loads between 250 and 300 pounds, removing the risk of back injury or equipment damage common with traditional loading methods. By keeping the operator’s body clear of the mechanism during operation, the design emphasizes both user safety and mechanical convenience. The inventor envisions the device as a practical upgrade for e-bike owners who struggle with the significant weight of modern electric models. Beyond personal cycling use, the developer suggests that larger versions of the receiver could be adapted for lifting heavy machinery across various industrial sectors.
