Thomas McCarrick Named Chief Medical Officer at Lightbeam Health

Dallas-based Lightbeam Health Solutions has appointed Dr. Thomas P. McCarrick as its new Chief Medical Officer, tasking the veteran physician with bridging the gap between complex data analytics and daily clinical practice. McCarrick, who assumed the role on August 31, brings four decades of experience to the AI-driven health platform.

Dr. McCarrick joins the leadership team after serving as Chief Medical Officer at Vanova Health Solutions and holding similar roles at Vanguard Medical Group. His background spans family medicine, geriatrics, and clinical informatics—a combination intended to help Lightbeam refine its value-based care technology. According to CEO Pat Cline, the company aims to reduce administrative burdens on physicians by embedding actionable insights directly into existing clinical workflows.

Throughout his career, McCarrick has spearheaded initiatives for the CMS Comprehensive Primary Care Plus program and patient-centered medical homes. He noted that the primary challenge facing modern clinicians is the sheer volume of available healthcare data, which often fails to translate into improved patient outcomes. In his new capacity, McCarrick will focus on ensuring that the company’s AI-enabled tools provide proactive, coordinated care support that aligns with the financial and clinical realities of modern healthcare organizations.
