The report, titled "Agents of Change," surveyed 251 security leaders across the semiconductor, software, and financial sectors. Findings reveal a widening gap between the speed of AI deployment and the efficacy of traditional oversight tools. While most firms have already integrated dozens of automated agents into their workflows, fewer than half of the surveyed leaders express full confidence in their ability to audit agent actions or confirm explicit permissions.
Dr. Jaushin Lee, CEO of Zentera, noted that cybersecurity methods have failed to evolve alongside the rapid adoption of agentic systems. The primary risk identified is not the failure of an agent’s task, but the environment in which it operates. Eighty-four percent of respondents fear agents can easily traverse project boundaries, while 80 percent worry about unauthorized access to sensitive data. To mitigate these risks, leaders are prioritizing project-level isolation and strict authorization protocols as essential prerequisites for further scaling.
Industry analysts increasingly view these governance failures as a catalyst for future disruptions. Gartner projects that by 2027, nearly 40 percent of enterprises will be forced to decommission autonomous agents following production incidents caused by inadequate oversight. In response, Zentera has launched Ensage AI, a security tool designed to enforce zero-trust policies at the network layer, ensuring agents remain within declared boundaries through continuous discovery and session monitoring.
