Shanghai Electric Posts 16.6% Revenue Growth on Global Green Expansion

Shanghai Electric reported a robust first half of 2026, with operating revenue climbing to CNY 63.33 billion and new orders surging to CNY 100.39 billion. The firm is leveraging a pivot toward green energy and industrial AI to capture high-end manufacturing contracts across European and Middle Eastern markets.

The company’s growth remains anchored in three core pillars: energy equipment, industrial solutions, and integrated services. The energy equipment segment led performance with CNY 36.56 billion in revenue, a 21.4% increase driven by wind power and energy storage adoption. Integrated services followed with a 31.5% revenue jump, reflecting growing demand for lifecycle management and supply chain coordination.

International expansion efforts reached a milestone as the company secured major infrastructure projects abroad. Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator landed a contract for Dubai’s Palm Island Phase II, while the power transmission division broke into the European market by supplying switchgear for a Finnish hyperscale data center. Furthermore, the company solidified its UK presence with the Minety Phase II energy storage project.

Technological innovation continues to underpin these gains, particularly in green methanol production and compressed air energy storage. The company has also intensified its focus on digital transformation, deploying 40 AI agents and connecting over 1.16 million devices to its SEunicloud industrial platform. These advances, combined with the launch of the SUYUAN 2.0 humanoid robot, signal a shift toward high-end intelligent manufacturing.
