Spence brings a background in scaling e-commerce consultancies, having previously served as CEO and Country Manager for WPP Luxembourg and VML. Her expertise spans retail media, data strategy, and technology, positioning her to oversee the diverse operational scope of THG Ingenuity, which includes commerce technology, studio production, and robotics.
Reflecting on her appointment, Spence noted that the organization’s ability to move rapidly from concept to scaled capability creates a unique competitive advantage. She emphasized that connecting these services through a unified decision layer is central to the future of commerce. As part of this transition, current leader John Gallemore will move into the role of Chairman, focusing on refining the company’s platforms to be faster and more connected. Additionally, Alistair Crane will shift into a Strategic Consultant role, tasked with identifying new opportunities for the firm as it continues to integrate AI and advanced analytics into its service offerings.
