Power Metallic Defines High-Grade Copper Resource at Quebec Lion Zone

Power Metallic Mines has declared its inaugural mineral resource estimate for the Lion Zone in Quebec, revealing a high-grade, copper-dominant deposit that holds approximately 406 million pounds of copper equivalent. With over 85% of the resource classified as indicated, the company is now positioning the site for potential development.

The Lion Zone, discovered in 2023 within the Nisk property, shows significant promise with grades averaging 3.86% CuEq for indicated resources and 4.01% CuEq for inferred. Metallurgical testing conducted by SGS Canada confirms copper recoveries exceeding 98%, producing concentrates that grade over 25% copper. The deposit remains open at depth, prompting an ongoing exploration program that utilizes five active drill rigs to test extensions beyond the current 600-meter vertical model.

Management is currently evaluating proposals for a Preliminary Economic Assessment to determine the project's viability. CEO Terry Lynch noted that the deposit’s location near existing road and power infrastructure, combined with favorable government incentives for critical minerals, could allow for a project with a modest initial footprint. Power Metallic plans to incorporate results from its summer 2026 drilling campaign into future updates as it works toward establishing a broader development strategy for the Nisk land package.
