The strategic separation responds to the divergent business models and market drivers between the parent group and its automotive unit. By creating two distinct entities, the company aims to sharpen strategic focus and allow for more precise capital allocation. Hans Stråberg, Chair of the SKF Board, described the move as a milestone designed to unlock the potential of both businesses and accelerate long-term growth for stakeholders.
Preparations are now in their final stages, with the leadership team for the new entity already appointed. Håkan Buskhe will serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for SKF Vertevo, joined by directors including Therese Friberg, Hock Goh, and Philip Ahlgren. In conjunction with this transition, Friberg and Goh will step down from the board of the parent company, AB SKF. The distribution is expected to qualify under Swedish Lex Asea rules, preventing immediate tax consequences for qualifying local residents.
