Mathias Bellino Reclaims the Trail with Segway Powersports

Eight years after a catastrophic crash ended his professional racing career, enduro champion Mathias Bellino is returning to the terrain that defined his life. The French rider has partnered with Segway Powersports, utilizing the Super Villain SX20T to reconnect with the landscape that once fueled his world championship ambitions.

Bellino’s career hit a permanent detour in August 2018 during the Desafío Ruta 40 rally in Argentina. A high-speed crash resulted in severe spinal injuries, forcing him to abandon his pursuit of the Dakar Rally. Before that injury, he had established himself as a dominant force in the sport, securing the 2012 Enduro Junior World title and the 2015 Enduro E3 championship, alongside three consecutive ISDE Junior World Trophy wins with the French national team.

Since his recovery, the former racer has remained active in the paddock, most notably serving as team manager for Honda ORC. By pairing with Segway, Bellino is shifting his focus from competitive speed to the sensory experience of off-road exploration. The Super Villain SX20T allows him to navigate technical terrain, prioritizing the connection with the outdoors that first drew him to motorcycles at the age of four. This partnership marks a shift in his trajectory, proving his commitment to the sport remains intact even as he navigates life after elite competition.
