Asia-Pacific Media Forum Convenes in Shenzhen for Regional Integration

Li Shulei, head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony, joined by Guangdong party secretary Huang Kunming. The discussions focused on the media’s responsibility to interpret policy and document the region’s progress as China prepares for the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. Attendees argued that journalists must move beyond reporting to actively curate a public environment conducive to open markets and integration.

Beyond policy analysis, the forum emphasized the need for practical collaboration. Participants established the Organizing Committee of the Asia-Pacific Media Partnership Program, a new initiative involving 16 founding organizations from across the globe. This coalition aims to standardize personnel training, share technological resources, and streamline joint reporting efforts. By aligning media strategy with the broader APEC agenda, organizers hope to solidify regional consensus on innovation and cultural exchange, ensuring that local narratives contribute to a cohesive Asia-Pacific identity.
