Cologne Court Bars AEKE from Selling Fitness Gear Over Design Infringement

The dispute centers on Speediance’s Gym Monster, a smart strength training system. After spotting a product at the FIBO trade fair that allegedly mimicked their protected design, Speediance issued a formal warning in April 2026. The Cologne court initially granted an injunction on April 17, which AEKE subsequently moved to challenge. A hearing held on June 25 resulted in the court upholding the original order in its entirety.

Under the court’s decision, AEKE must cease advertising and offering the disputed equipment within Germany. Furthermore, the company is required to remove all related products and marketing materials from the German market. Speediance, which maintains a portfolio of AI-assisted training hardware, stated that the move serves to protect its intellectual property and ensure that market competition remains rooted in original engineering rather than imitation.
