S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Major Quarterly Rebalance

S&P Dow Jones Indices will execute a sweeping reshuffle of its major market gauges before the opening bell on September 21, 2026. The move aims to realign the S&P 500, S&P 100, S&P MidCap 400, and S&P SmallCap 600 indices to better mirror the current market capitalization landscape of their constituents.

The upcoming quarterly rebalance brings significant changes to the S&P 100, where Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks, and Sandisk will join the index. These additions will displace Honeywell Aerospace, NIKE, Simon Property Group, and Colgate-Palmolive. In the broader S&P 500, Bloom Energy, Everpure, and Illumina are set to enter, replacing Molson Coors Beverage, The Trade Desk, and Builders FirstSource.

Structural shifts continue down the market capitalization tiers. The S&P MidCap 400 will welcome HubSpot, AGNC Investment, Corcept Therapeutics, Everpure, and Brinker Intl, while removing Boston Beer, Capri Holdings, and others to maintain index integrity. Simultaneously, the S&P SmallCap 600 will undergo a wide-ranging adjustment involving the entry of firms such as Herc Holdings, Delek US Holdings, and AXT, ensuring the index remains a precise representative of the small-cap sector. All adjustments are scheduled to take effect prior to the start of trading on September 21, 2026.
