Beyoncé Marks B'Day Anniversary With 4K Visuals and Surprise Tracks

Twenty years after the debut of her sophomore album, Beyoncé is revisiting the high-energy era of B'Day. To celebrate the milestone, the singer has released remastered 4K versions of her original short films and unveiled a collection of new studio recordings, including fresh collaborations and Spanish-language tracks.

The project, which originally launched in 2006, served as a pivotal departure from her Destiny’s Child origins. Recording the album in just two weeks, Beyoncé prioritized live instrumentation and a heavy, percussive soundscape. She described the initial creative process as an attempt to bridge the gap between simple drum loops and complex vocal arrangements, ensuring that the 808 bass lines provided a foundation for her melodies. Beyond the audio remastering, the reissue includes the release of Morning Dew (DONK) and new collaborations, such as a version of Irreemplazable featuring Selena and a track with Maluma.

While the archival updates have been met with enthusiasm, the accompanying merchandise drop has triggered a sharp response from her fanbase. The new collection, which features imagery from the original B'Day photo shoots and the Beyoncé Experience tour, includes apparel bundles priced between $190 and $350. Social media discourse has focused heavily on a $950 wooden vinyl storage box, with many fans questioning the steep pricing strategy on platforms like X. Despite the criticism regarding the luxury-tier merch, the anniversary celebration remains a significant archival project for the artist.
