Patients can now book appointments through the company’s website, mobile app, or by texting "Flu" to 66879. Walk-in visits remain an option for those seeking immediate access. According to Rick Gates, chief pharmacy officer at Walgreens, the initiative focuses on convenience and safety, allowing families to address multiple health needs during one trip to the pharmacy. The company has bolstered its pharmacy staffing and expanded appointment slots to handle the anticipated seasonal demand.
To incentivize participation, the pharmacy is offering $15 in rewards for myWalgreens members who receive a vaccine and make a subsequent in-store purchase of $5 or more. Members also receive a 10% cash reward on eligible purchases for 30 days following their visit. While most insurance plans cover the vaccines at no cost to the patient, availability remains subject to local stock. The updated 2026-2027 formula is designed to target currently circulating variants, with experts recommending administration between September and October for maximum effectiveness.
