The growth in options trading was accompanied by a rise in market share, which climbed to a year-to-date record of 17.1%, up from 16.5% a year earlier. For the month of August alone, the group handled 11.5 million contracts in average daily volume, representing a 21.1% increase over August 2025. This performance reflects the broader industry trend, where U.S. equity options industry volume grew by 14.3% during the same monthly window.
While the options segment saw consistent expansion, other areas of the business experienced varied results. MIAX Pearl’s equity trading volume reached 112 million shares in August, though this figure reflects a year-over-year decline. Meanwhile, the MIAX Futures Exchange reported an average daily volume of 14,092 contracts for agricultural products, a 25.9% increase from the previous year. Detailed statistics on revenue per contract and segment-specific capture rates remain available via the company’s investor relations portal.
