The expansion kicks off with 150 locations currently operating within Walmart stores. Management intends to scale this availability to a significant portion of its 10,000 nationwide locations, effectively turning its existing delivery infrastructure into a multi-category restaurant marketplace. Greg Cathey, Senior Vice President of eCommerce Fulfillment Transformation, framed the move as a push to simplify customer routines by merging essential shopping with food delivery.
Inspire Brands, the parent company of Dunkin’, views the partnership as a way to increase brand frequency. Scott Murphy, President of Dunkin’ and Chief Brand Officer at Inspire, noted that the collaboration aims to capture consumers in more moments throughout their day. By leveraging Walmart’s established logistics network, the retailer is positioning its app as a single destination for both pantry staples and quick-service dining, creating a direct challenge to specialized third-party delivery platforms.
