TheCode Rebrands with AI-Driven Luxury Marketplace Model

Luxury fashion platform Love the Sales has rebranded as TheCode, debuting an invite-only marketplace that utilizes proprietary artificial intelligence to manage inventory surplus and optimize product discovery. The relaunch features over 100,000 curated styles, signaling a shift toward a data-first approach for high-end retail partners.

TheCode positions itself as a specialized environment where brands can manage surplus stock separately from their full-price channels. By leveraging AI to automate onboarding and stock management, the platform aims to minimize markdowns while maintaining brand prestige. According to David Bishop, co-founder and CTO, the technology focuses on recognizing individual shopper intent rather than simply increasing product volume, allowing partners to navigate complex assortment challenges with precision.

Beyond this rebrand, the broader retail landscape saw significant technical deployments this week. JD Sports partnered with HyperFinity to overhaul its loyalty strategy, utilizing a new personalization engine to determine optimal incentive mixes. Meanwhile, The Home Depot expanded its Magic Apron AI shopping assistant across US stores. While the tool provides real-time aisle and inventory data, industry experts note that its success relies entirely on the underlying accuracy of store-level operations, such as planogram updates and inventory tracking.
