Appearing on The Tamsen Show podcast this September, Burke recalled that her exit occurred while her contract was actively being renegotiated. She arrived at the set to find her dressing room being repainted, only to receive a call from a producer informing her that the show was moving in a different direction. The lack of a specific explanation fueled personal doubt, leading Burke to wonder if the decision was rooted in her age, ethnicity, or a shift in the show’s cultural focus.
At the time of her firing, Burke was balancing her career with the demands of raising four children. She admitted the transition was jarring, particularly because she had viewed the show as a long-term professional home. While she eventually accepted the change as a standard reality of the entertainment industry, she noted that the network’s decision to bring in sportscaster Erin Andrews felt like a calculated move to prioritize current relevance over her established tenure.
Burke has since pivoted toward new ventures, including her digital fitness platform, Brooke Burke Body, and hosting duties for The CW’s Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Despite the lingering disappointment of how her DWTS chapter concluded, she maintains that the experience taught her the necessity of navigating the unpredictable nature of show business with a sense of perspective.
