Truist Wealth appoints Tory Sherman to lead national brokerage expansion

Tory Sherman has been named national director of Wealth Brokerage at Truist Wealth, taking on a newly created role to drive advisor productivity and client acquisition. Reporting to head of Wealth Brokerage Bryan Cram, Sherman will spearhead sales strategy across the firm’s private wealth and wholesale banking divisions.

Sherman brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the Charlotte-based financial institution. Before joining Truist, he served as executive vice president and president at Comerica Financial Advisors, where he directed the firm’s national brokerage and advisory operations. His professional background also includes a two-decade tenure at Wells Fargo, where he transitioned from a financial advisor role into senior leadership positions overseeing regional and national markets.

At Truist, Sherman will focus on integrating sales support functions and fostering collaboration between Wealth Brokerage and the broader Truist ecosystem. The appointment aims to leverage his expertise in building high-performing teams to attract talent and scale the firm’s wealth management platform. Truist Financial Corporation, which manages $556 billion in assets, continues to prioritize its wealth business as a key component of its commercial banking strategy.
