Amber International Pivots to AI Agents as Q2 Profits Turn Positive

Amber International Holding Limited has officially transitioned from a digital wealth management firm into a specialized AI agent developer, reporting a 38.8% quarter-over-quarter revenue increase to US$13.9 million. The shift, underscored by a return to profitability, marks a departure from its legacy operations toward high-stakes automated workflows.

The company’s strategic pivot centers on the launch of two core products: Ambre, a consumer-facing personal finance agent, and MIA, an automated tool for marketing and enterprise workflows. By focusing on these specialized agents, Amber International aims to move beyond standard AI interfaces, offering systems that interpret user intent and execute complex tasks. The company reported that agentic revenue reached US$7.4 million in the second quarter, a performance that helped drive gross margins to 79.5% and returned the business to positive operating income and Adjusted EBITDA.

Management has opted to withdraw previous financial guidance, citing the need to evaluate the impact of this new business model as it scales. With US$34.2 million in cash and cash equivalents as of mid-year, the firm intends to maintain a disciplined approach to its development cycle. Chairman and CEO Michael Wu emphasized that the company is executing this transition from a position of strength, with additional product details expected at an upcoming Investor Day before the end of the year.
