Alimentation Couche-Tard Shareholders Confirm Board of Directors

Shareholders of Laval-based convenience giant Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. have officially re-elected the company's full slate of proposed directors. The vote, conducted during the annual meeting on September 2, 2026, saw broad support for the management-backed candidates, securing their positions for the upcoming term across the global retail network.

The election results confirmed that all nominees listed in the July 8, 2026, Management Proxy Circular received a majority of votes cast. Former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen J. Harper and Marie Josée Lamothe emerged with the highest levels of approval, each securing more than 99.6% support from investors. Meanwhile, Jean Bernier faced the most significant pushback among the nominees, with approximately 20.01% of votes withheld, though he successfully maintained his seat on the board.

Other key directors, including Alain Bouchard, Louis Vachon, and Janice L. Fields, maintained strong mandates from the shareholder base. These results solidify the current leadership structure for the corporation, which now manages over 17,200 stores across 27 countries and territories under the Couche-Tard and Circle K banners. The company remains a dominant force in the retail fuel and convenience sector, employing roughly 145,000 staff globally.
