Sue Decker to Depart Vail Resorts Board After 11 Years

After more than a decade of oversight, Sue Decker will step down from the Vail Resorts Board of Directors. The veteran executive, who recently joined the boards of Anderson Group and Nscale, informed the company she will not seek reelection at the 2026 Annual Meeting to manage her total committee commitments.

Chairperson and CEO Rob Katz credited Decker with providing strategic insight and financial acumen throughout her tenure. Her departure coincides with a broader effort to refresh the company’s leadership ranks, which saw the recent appointments of Bill Hornbuckle, Reggie Chambers, and Iris Knobloch.

Following the 2026 Annual Meeting, the board will temporarily shrink to nine members. The Nominating & Governance Committee has already engaged an executive search firm to identify a successor, with the company aiming to expand the board back to ten members by early 2027. Decker will remain in her current role until her term officially concludes at the upcoming meeting.
