The acquisition of Hermetik Trading Technologies brings more than just technical infrastructure to the firm. Brendan MacNeil, who founded the Canadian DeFi company and spent three years refining its yield-generation systems, has been appointed as Qapture's Head of DeFi. MacNeil will join the firm’s Research and Investment Committees to oversee product development, leveraging his background to bridge the gap between volatile digital assets and stable, data-driven investment returns.
Simultaneously, the firm has rebranded its newly acquired British Virgin Islands entity as Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd. Operating under the BVI Approved Manager regime, the division is authorized to oversee up to $400 million in aggregate assets. This regulatory framework provides a strategic layer for managing private funds and separately managed accounts while the firm works toward a full investment-business license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority. By consolidating these assets, Qapture aims to position itself as a modular manager capable of navigating the shift of capital toward on-chain markets.
