Elliot Page Faces Quiet Career Period Despite Nolan Blockbuster Role

After starring as the Greek soldier Sinon in Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey, 39-year-old actor Elliot Page expected a shift in his professional trajectory. Instead, he finds himself in a quiet period, revealing that the high-profile blockbuster has not yet translated into the surge of new acting offers he anticipated.

During a recent appearance on the On Film… With Kevin McCarthy podcast, Page addressed the assumption that such a major project would invite a flood of new work. He clarified that the calls have not arrived, though he remains eager to secure roles that allow him to focus fully on his craft. The actor noted that his current comfort level on set has improved significantly following his transition, allowing him to prioritize his performance without the personal disconnect he previously experienced during earlier career milestones like Juno or Inception.

While the industry response has been muted, Page has maintained a public presence by documenting his intense commitment to boxing and physical wellness under the guidance of coach Nolan Hanson. Beyond his fitness routine, the actor continues to use his platform to discuss the systemic barriers and societal shame often faced by queer youth. By challenging misconceptions about identity and the definition of what is natural, Page aims to dismantle the rigid assumptions that complicate open dialogue. Outside of his professional and advocacy work, he has also embraced a new chapter in his personal life, recently going public with actress Julia Shiplett, his first relationship since coming out as transgender in 2020.
