The initiative kicked off on August 31, providing subscribers a look at Dana Simpson’s Phoebe and Her Unicorn: Across Enchanted Lands more than a month before its scheduled October 6 release. This follows a similar preview for Lincoln Peirce’s Big Nate: Curse of the Puffy Shorts!, which debuted on the platform shortly before its September 1 publication. These early previews aim to build momentum for new releases while leveraging Epic’s library of 40,000 titles to encourage ongoing engagement with full series.
Beyond simple digital access, the collaboration incorporates interactive elements designed to deepen the connection between fans and creators. The Big Nate launch featured the platform’s first new avatar in six years, alongside downloadable activities and author-signed giveaways. Similar perks are planned for the Phoebe and Her Unicorn release, including author videos and specialized digital badges. Through the Epic Ambassador program, participating educators also have the chance to secure exclusive classroom visits with Peirce or Simpson, allowing students to interact directly with the authors behind the stories.
