Ecobat Sheds Lithium Assets to Refocus on Lead Recycling

The Arizona transaction concludes a multi-year restructuring process intended to streamline Ecobat’s portfolio. By offloading its lithium-ion infrastructure, the firm intends to concentrate its capital and technical resources on its core lead recycling business. Tom Slabe, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated that the move allows the company to sharpen its strategic trajectory while maximizing shareholder value.

Ecobat remains a significant player in mineral recovery, maintaining three facilities in the United States that process millions of batteries annually. The company specializes in reclaiming lead, tin, and antimony, which are then reintegrated into global manufacturing supply chains. While the lithium division transitions to new ownership, Ecobat plans to leverage its decades of operational experience to solidify its market position in traditional battery recycling.
