Homefree Earns EcoVadis Silver Medal for Sustainable Practices

Windham-based cookie manufacturer Homefree has secured the EcoVadis Silver Medal, a distinction placing the company within the top 15% of organizations evaluated globally for sustainability. This recognition underscores the brand's integration of ethical sourcing and responsible operations into its production of allergy-friendly, gluten-free baked goods.

The certification highlights the company’s holistic approach to business, which extends beyond its Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 safety standards. Founder and President Jill Robbins noted that the award validates a long-standing corporate philosophy where sustainability informs every decision, from supply chain management to environmental stewardship. By maintaining a dedicated facility free from the top 14 allergens, Homefree balances its mission of inclusive food production with a commitment to transparency and accountability.

EcoVadis evaluates participants across four primary categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. For Homefree, which operates as a certified Women Owned Business, this medal serves as an independent benchmark for its ongoing efforts to minimize its footprint while expanding its national presence in retail and foodservice sectors.
