The new lineup, marketed as Cordless Pneumatics, leverages the proprietary Air Spring Drive System Plus. This technology stores compressed air within the tool, allowing it to drive up to six nails per second. According to Metabo HPT, this solves a long-standing trade-off where professionals previously had to choose between the mobility of battery-powered tools and the high-speed consistency of air-driven equipment.
Joe Leffler, president of Metabo HPT North America, noted that the industry has demanded this performance shift for years to combat labor shortages and tight project timelines. Beyond speed, the tools are built for field maintenance, allowing users to perform routine service in under ten minutes. Powered by 18V MultiVolt 10.0Ah T-PWR Tabless batteries, the units are rated for up to 1,170 nails per charge. The series includes five models covering framing, metal connector, and duplex forming applications, with retail availability beginning this month at prices starting at $579.
