Acer Updates Vero 16 With Repair-First Design and AI Integration

The new hardware reflects a shift toward the "4R" design philosophy—reduce, reuse, recycle, and repair. To minimize environmental impact, the chassis uses 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 60% post-consumer recycled plastic. Practical maintenance is supported by a tool-free bottom access latch, a detachable hinge, and removable I/O port covers, allowing users to replace the battery and SSD without specialized equipment. The device is also engineered to support processor upgrades for at least two future generations.

Under the hood, the machine targets high-performance productivity with up to 180 platform TOPS provided by Intel Core Ultra processors. Visuals are handled by a 16-inch 3K OLED display, while connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, and HDMI 2.1. The integration of Windows 11 Copilot+ features, such as Live Captions and AI-assisted content creation, is complemented by Acer’s proprietary software suite for noise reduction and system optimization. The Vero 16 is scheduled for release in EMEA markets starting in the first quarter of 2027.
