Axjo Group Expands French Footprint with Eco-Tourets Acquisition

By integrating the Villeneuve-sur-Yonne facility into its European network, Swedish packaging specialist Axjo Group has secured a new foothold in France. The deal marks a strategic shift for the recycled polymer provider, moving from remote supply to a localized logistics and sales model aimed at accelerating regional growth.

The acquisition of Eco-Tourets aligns with Axjo’s broader continental expansion, following the recent establishment of a German subsidiary in Cologne. The site in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, situated southeast of Paris, will function as the primary hub for Axjo’s French operations. This transition is designed to facilitate faster delivery cycles and tighter integration with local clients in the wire and cable sector.

Jacob Nilsson, CEO of Axjo Group, emphasized the necessity of local infrastructure to maintain service quality. He pointed to the leadership of Eco-Tourets founder Maxime Peyronny as a catalyst for the deal, noting that Peyronny will remain at the helm to steer the company’s French development. For his part, Peyronny cited the need for operational scale, viewing the partnership as the logical progression for his existing market network.

Beyond immediate logistical support, the companies intend to leverage shared expertise in circular packaging. Axjo’s roadmap includes further investment in domestic French production, aiming to transition from a distribution-focused model to a comprehensive, localized supply chain that prioritizes reusable packaging solutions.
