Five essential sessions for NRF Europe 2026

With NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show Europe arriving in less than a month, the event’s sprawling agenda of over 100 sessions presents a daunting choice for attendees. To help navigate the schedule, we have selected five high-impact discussions that address the most pressing technological shifts currently reshaping the retail landscape.

The program kicks off on Tuesday, September 15th, with a focus on logistics at the Breakout Stage. Experts from Pets at Home, Bolt, and IKI Lietuva will examine how supply chains are pivoting toward agile, data-driven distribution models to support unified commerce. On Wednesday, September 16th, the Vusion Theatre hosts a session on scaling ecosystems featuring Tomasz Blicharski of Żabka Group, followed by a deep dive into the connected grocery experience. In the latter, leaders from Instacart and Sonae MC/Continente will demonstrate how smart trolleys and in-store sensors are being integrated to create a singular, real-time view of the customer across global markets.

The final day brings critical discussions on the future of consumer autonomy and practical AI implementation. On Thursday, September 17th, industry veterans from Kingfisher and KPMG will address the risks of agentic commerce, specifically the potential for retailers to lose direct control of the purchase journey to autonomous AI agents. The series concludes with a session at Breakout Stage 1, where representatives from MediaMarktSaturn, L'Occitane, and Mango share tangible use cases for AI. These discussions aim to prove that technology can solve operational pain points without diminishing the essential role of human talent in the retail workforce.
