The groundbreaking ceremony brought together project developers, financial backers, and construction teams to initiate the build on a site intended to address rising power demand in one of the nation's most active energy hubs. OCI Energy and Arava Power are leading the development, with financing provided by ING and construction handled by WHC.
Sabah Bayatli, President of OCI Energy, noted that the project highlights the role of strategic collaboration in expanding critical energy infrastructure across Texas. For Arava Power, the development marks a significant expansion of its international footprint, building on the company's history as a pioneer in the Israeli solar market. The project relies on a long-term power purchase agreement with a major corporate partner, ensuring a steady offtake once the facility reaches commercial operation in late 2027. Beyond the energy output, the project is expected to stimulate local economic activity throughout the multi-year construction phase and the facility's subsequent operating life.
