Astemo to Invest $112 Million in Kentucky EV Component Production

The expansion on Mayde Road represents a pivotal shift in the company’s regional strategy, aiming to bolster its output of chassis and electric powertrain components. This project is a critical component of a broader multi-year initiative designed to generate 282 total new roles across the firm's Kentucky facilities. Governor Andy Beshear described the move as one of the largest single industrial investments in Madison County in recent memory.

Since establishing its first Kentucky plant in 1985, the company has grown into the region's largest employer. Tim Clark, president and CEO of Astemo Americas, noted that the state remains a cornerstone of the firm's U.S. operations. Local officials, including Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley, anticipate that the growth will ripple through the community, creating significant career opportunities beyond the immediate job openings at the two Berea plants. Headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the company continues to scale its domestic manufacturing capabilities to support global automotive supply chains.
