MatrixCare Gains Independence, Names Jonathan Lujan as CEO

Jonathan Lujan has been tapped to lead MatrixCare as the healthcare technology provider officially transitions into an independent company. Based in Bloomington, the firm aims to leverage its newfound autonomy to accelerate product innovation and streamline decision-making for its cloud-based electronic health record and revenue cycle management platforms.

Lujan joins the organization with an extensive background in healthcare services, most recently serving as CEO of Sight Growth Partners. His tenure there was marked by a significant operational transformation that turned the firm into one of the country's largest ophthalmology management organizations. His career history also includes senior leadership roles at DaVita, Surgical Information Systems, GE Healthcare, and the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan.

Operating as a standalone entity provides MatrixCare the flexibility to reinvest directly into its core technology. The company serves over 15,000 providers across skilled nursing, senior living, and hospice sectors. Lujan stated that the move allows the firm to build upon its four-decade history while delivering faster, more focused solutions to its clients. This strategic shift is designed to strengthen the company’s position as a provider of EHR and RCM tools in the out-of-hospital care market.
