The expansion marks a strategic shift for the Philadelphia-based firm, which has historically focused on workers' compensation and disability law. Spooner brings a distinct perspective to his new role, having spent nearly two decades navigating complex litigation for defense-side clients. By pivoting to plaintiff advocacy, the firm aims to leverage his deep understanding of how insurance entities and corporations construct their legal strategies to secure favorable outcomes for individual claimants.
Spooner will work in tandem with Kaio Carter, who oversees the firm’s California Lemon Law practice. Their combined presence in Orange County represents the fourth geographic expansion for Pond Lehocky in the last year, following growth in Seattle, Haddonfield, and Pittsburgh. Managing Partner Sam Pond noted that Spooner’s background provides a competitive edge in leveling the playing field against well-funded opponents. The new office, located at 3200 Bristol Street, reflects the firm's broader mission to scale its national platform beyond its Pennsylvania roots, where it has already secured over $1 billion in client recoveries.
