The new expression draws on a proprietary blend of high-rye and low-rye mash bills, a technique central to the distillery's signature profile. After eight years of aging, the whiskey offers a nuanced palate featuring notes of grilled peaches, brown sugar, and sweet cherry, finishing with hints of rye bread and maple syrup. Ryan Norwood, the master distiller at Sagamore, noted that the long maturation process highlights the depth and character inherent in the Maryland style.
Crafted to meet the rigorous Bottled in Bond Act requirements, the release is produced at a single distillery during a single season and bottled at exactly 100 proof. This transparency in production serves as a benchmark for the distillery's commitment to its regional roots. The whiskey is now available at select premium retailers and the Baltimore distillery for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
