The project serves as a major expansion of natural gas transmission capacity designed to address supply constraints and improve energy reliability in South Florida. With a total estimated investment of $1.2 billion, the pipeline represents a significant capital venture for both companies as they seek to meet the demands of one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States.
Jeff Householder, CEO of Chesapeake Utilities, noted that the partnership validates the strength of the regulated infrastructure opportunity. Engineering, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement are currently underway. Construction is slated to begin in the first half of 2028, with the infrastructure expected to enter service in 2030, pending final commissioning and design completion.
