The new moisturizer utilizes a combination of a Calcium Strengthening Complex and a Botanical Calming Complex. According to company research, the formula addresses skin stress by rebalancing the barrier with calcium while using mondo grass root to soothe visible redness. Prithwiraj Maitra, vice president of global skincare R&D at Allergan Aesthetics, noted that a compromised barrier limits the efficacy of other skincare ingredients, including retinol.
