The 2027 NX marks a departure from traditional internal combustion models, focusing on the latest iteration of the Lexus hybrid drivetrain. Engineers have integrated a new e-Axle assembly and silicon carbide power semiconductors to improve efficiency and lower the vehicle's center of gravity. For the NX 450h+ plug-in variant, a redesigned lithium-ion battery provides a 30% increase in capacity, targeting over 40 miles of electric-only range.
Driving performance receives a significant boost through increased chassis rigidity and a re-tuned suspension system tested at Toyota’s Shimoyama facility and the Nürburgring. Lexus has also introduced the Sensory Concierge feature on Luxury and F SPORT grades, which synchronizes lighting, sound, and fragrance to curate the cabin environment. All models now feature the updated Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, which expands sensor coverage and introduces advanced collision avoidance capabilities to maintain the brand’s focus on driver assistance technology.
