The new system pairs the 6.25 MWh Elementa 3 battery with a 13.8 MVA AC platform, creating a modular architecture capable of supporting projects with durations between two and eight hours. By integrating these components, the company aims to simplify the deployment process for developers facing increasingly stringent technical demands across the Middle East and Africa. The unit reaches a full-chain system efficiency of 96% and utilizes 587Ah high-energy-density cells to deliver up to 50 MWh of total storage capacity.
Technically, the platform is designed for grid support, featuring a 10ms full-power response time alongside black-start and grid-forming capabilities. Jack Chen, Head of Energy Storage for the MEA region at Trinasolar, noted that the industry's next phase hinges on the ability to scale while maintaining high performance. Beyond power metrics, the design emphasizes safety through a 120-minute fire resistance rating and a six-layer electrical protection system. Trina Storage is showcasing these capabilities at the Dubai World Trade Centre through September 3, positioning the containerized hardware as a direct response to the region’s growing need for reliable grid-balancing infrastructure.
