Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gadot recalled meetings with Gunn and Safran where she was told they intended to develop the sequel with her. However, the actress noted a disconnect between those private assurances and the studio's subsequent actions, which mirrored the controversial handling of Henry Cavill’s departure from the Superman role. She described the process—which also saw director Patty Jenkins sidelined—as lacking elegance.
Despite the frustration surrounding the project's cancellation, Gadot expressed gratitude for her time as the character. She emphasized that she holds no personal animosity toward the new leadership, recognizing that they are operating based on their own creative vision for the DC universe. Looking ahead, the actress has moved on to projects like the upcoming thriller The Runner, set for a September 2 release, while remaining open to future roles, including a potential return to the Fast and the Furious franchise.
