Liang’s transformation required a radical shift in her lifestyle, centered on a protein-heavy diet and high-intensity martial arts training. To achieve the necessary muscle mass, she consumed 12 eggs daily and maintained a strict eating schedule every two hours, a process she described as physically taxing to the point of nausea. Her training routine included two hours of daily practice in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Wushu to master the character’s legendary kicks.
Beyond the physical demands, the 26-year-old Canadian actress utilized her PlayStation 5 to study Chun-Li’s move sets. She recorded the character’s in-game animations in slow motion, allowing her to meticulously mimic the specific mechanics of the 'Hyakuretsukyaku.' The film, which features a cast including Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.
