The new site, located 30 miles east of Cincinnati, currently employs 430 people with projections to surpass 500 staff members as production scales. Designed to output brands including Pro Plan and Dog Chow, the plant utilizes advanced automation, including an Automated Storage and Retrieval System and thermal-inspection robotics, to serve an estimated eight million pets annually.
Nina Leigh Krueger, CEO of Purina, described the project as a cornerstone of the company’s long-term commitment to domestic manufacturing. Governor Mike DeWine and local officials emphasized the economic ripple effects for Clermont County, where the company has already begun integrating into the local ecosystem through grants for animal welfare and community services. This operation marks the company's 24th U.S. factory, joining its long-standing facility in Zanesville to solidify the brand's presence in the state.
