Kelly Halverson steps into leadership role at Ameritas

Lincoln-based insurance firm Ameritas has promoted Kelly Halverson to executive vice president of its individual division, effective September 1, 2026. Halverson, who previously served as senior vice president and chief actuary, succeeds Ryan Beasley, a tenured executive departing the company to enter retirement after a decade of service.

Halverson’s transition marks a significant internal shift for the mutual holding company. Having started his journey at Ameritas as an actuarial intern, he has spent his career refining the firm's product, underwriting, and strategic frameworks. CEO Bob Jurgensmeier noted that the appointment reflects the company’s internal talent pipeline, emphasizing Halverson’s dual background in technical actuarial work and broader business leadership.

In his new capacity, Halverson will oversee the individual division’s growth trajectory, with a specific focus on digital transformation and product innovation. Beyond his internal duties, he maintains an active role in the broader insurance industry, serving on the LIMRA Annuity Advisory Board to track emerging trends in the retirement and annuity markets. His mandate includes balancing the firm’s long-standing mutual values with the demands of an evolving financial services landscape.
