Universal Music Group has spent nearly €10 million in a single week to reacquire its own stock, bringing the company to the brink of its €250 million buyback target. Between August 24 and August 28, the music giant purchased 670,703 shares at an average price of €14.76 per share.

Since the program's inception on August 6, the Hilversum-based firm has aggressively consolidated its equity, acquiring a total of 16,257,687 shares.
