The accident occurred early Thursday morning near Zamora as the big rig was transporting gear from a previous performance in Seattle. The vehicle drifted onto the shoulder before overturning while the driver attempted to maneuver back onto the freeway. Emergency responders from Yolo County and Woodland arrived at the scene shortly after 6 a.m., but the lone occupant was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the identity of the crew member.
California Highway Patrol Sergeant David Barker stated that the cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with officials examining potential factors such as driver fatigue or distraction. While the overturned truck disrupted traffic flow on the highway, authorities maintained open lanes to allow for continued travel during the recovery process. The Golden 1 Center confirmed the cancellation of the performance, citing the tragic loss of a member of the artist’s touring crew.
